Step 2.0: Diagnosing ADHD Introduction—Overview (5 min)
5:07 minutes
Even if diagnosis is already in place, do you:
Understand (or remember) how it was made?
Have faith in the evaluating professional’s expertise or conclusion? (Lingering doubt can sabotage progress.)
Have clarity on how specific symptoms might be manifesting in your life?
Have data you can use to target treatment goals and track progress?
Understand how to begin distinguishing ADHD from “look a-likes” such as anxiety, depression, etc.?
If thinking about pursuing a diagnosis, do you:
Harbor skepticism about ADHD being a “diagnosis”?
Realize that not all mental-health professionals are qualified to evaluate for or treat ADHD?
Know enough to be confidently (but diplomatically) pro-active in the evaluation process?
Understand why recruiting a partner or friend to help tackle this process might be a smart move?
If you answered "no" to any question, this step is definitely for you. In fact, it's for everyone!
